Bodas May 09

MAY 4 –MAY 8 Leisle meets with her father to discuss her findings, but she storms out when the Padre appears in the room. Leisle comes down with flu-like symptoms and Bernardo immediately thinks that the los Pop cartel poisoned his daughter. Adoración also becomes sick and Rodrigo thinks back to when Olaf tried to sabotage Agua Aztlán. Olaf and Jordi worry over Adoración, but she doesn’t want Olaf’s sympathy. Marta Elena invites Ana María to help her make final preparations for the wedding. During the final stages of the wedding planning, Huecita and Ana María discuss the possibility that Teresa may want to carry out Federico’s plan. The Padre places a secret phone call, telling the other person that “it isn’t safe to come back yet”. Santiago tells Enrique that he holds him responsible for Santiago’s wife leaving him. Enrique thinks that Juan is still too young to become involved with the cartel, but he hopes that his son will be a boss someday.

MAY 11 – MAY 15 La Diana takes care of Leisle, but she also becomes sick. Bernardo and his family are quarantined and more cases of swine flu pop up throughout the country. Adoración becomes extremely ill and at the hospital, Augusto tells Jordi that it doesn’t look like she will make it. Jordi contacts Marta Elena and they decide to postpone the wedding until after Adoración recovers. Augusto is secretly pleased with Adoración’s deteriorating condition, but Karina encourages Jordi that his mother will recover. Rodrigo and Luis Miguel discuss the possibility that the los Pop cartel deliberately infected the citizens of Veracruz. The Padre places a secret phone call, telling the other person that “it isn’t safe to come back yet”. Paloma decides to keep a closer eye on her daughter, fearing what the cartel is capable of doing. Under the advice of Santiago, Olaf closes the entire Port of Veracruz, effectively keeping the illness out and keeping invalids in the city.

MAY 18 – MAY 22 Luis Miguel communicates to Bernardo that they think the los Pop cartel is behind the global pandemic. Leisle’s condition deteriorates and Pedro thinks that his worst fears may come true. Rodrigo confronts Olaf, but Olaf fervently denies that the cartel had anything to do with the swine flu. Augusto suggests that Madre Tierra visit Adoración in the hospital and Marta Elena talks to her grandmother. Jordi can’t help feel that Augusto is taking pleasure in his suffering. Gregorio asks Enrique about getting a reduced sentence and Enrique promises that Gregorio’s release is in the works. Teresa and Marco continue to cultivate their relationship, though Ana María warns Marco that Teresa may suffer from the same psychotic condition as Federico. When Inés stops by to visit, Paloma tells her mother that some time apart might be best for her children. In the manicomio, Laticia gets the flu, but she takes some smuggled los Pop to ease the pain.

MAY 25 – MAY 29 After Laticia’s rapid recovery, Enrique realizes that this is an opportunity to capitalize on the potential of los Pop. Enrique encourages Olaf to temporarily lift the ban on los Pop to use as a treatment for swine flu, but they need medical backing. Not a religious person, Bernardo asks that Madre Tierra pray for Leisle in the hospital. Augusto learns that some of his patients are using los Pop to relieve symptoms of the flu, but he also sees the addictive nature of the drug. Adoración appears to have recovered, but she is kept in the hospital to prevent the spread of the swine flu. Jordi and Marta Elena decide to have their wedding as soon as Adoración is released. Marco tells Teresa of his family life and that his mother disappeared many years ago. The strained relationship between Inés and Paloma resurfaces as Inés brings up Paloma’s past.
